ok so every time I try to extract these files I get the below error. Can someone please help?

just got done with the jailbreak using redsnow. synced it and got all my music and apps and whatnot back. but I have one MAJOR issue. now my signal strength is only 1 bar, doesn't say AT&T, get call failed when I tried to make a call. Settings>Phone>my number no number there, enter my number and hit save, says phone number could not be saved
Help?! i need to be able to use my iPhone...what happened to mine?

I probably won't post a guide for 3.0.1, seeing as firmware 3.1 will be released sometimes soon, and it contains the fix for the SMS vulnerability as well. I'll post the 3.1 guide, and people can just update to it before performing the jailbreak.

Have you rebooted it yet? If not, try that.. if that doesn't work, you'll need to restore in iTunes and try it all again.

i did everything recommended and nothin worked. I did a restore, and updated to ver 3.0.1 so I guess I'll try it again.

or should I wait till 3.1 is released?

Hey thanks for the info this sticky is very useful. I am having a probleming unlocking however, I and using resn0w 0.7 for my iPhone 3gs and I keeps getting suck on the "please wait your device is being jailbroken" reboot part.. Its not rebooting. Any ideas?

You need to use redsn0w 0.8. Update to 3.0.1 and then use the 3.0 IPSW file for redsn0w.
