The rumor is out there.. what do you think? Will apple try to lock all the mods out there including the unlock?

true. apple is neutral upon using third party apps. they're probably just going to try and stop unlockers, but not mods

I wouldn't mind an update that actually gave us something tangibly new (in the form of the itunes mobile music store, so that I purchase even less music from itunes) but I just finished the final touches on my phone and got it just the way I wanted, so I won't be too happy to have to redo everything.

I think the new ipod touch models are running the current iphone firmware, albeit a crippled version. That said, our 3rd party apps may cease from working until they can get the itouch hacked. As luck my have it, the folks at tuaw are reporting some serious setbacks. They are making progress, and if this indeed the case, we can take solace in knowing they've had a headstart on hacking the new firmware thanks to the itouch.

In any case the next time theres an upgrade, I'm not going to do it for at least a couple weeks, just like when 1.0.2 came out. Nullriver said it best, let them brick their iphones first.
