Tried Jailbreaking iPhone 3g 3.0 with Redsn0w and Cydia Icon not showing up

I have unlocked and jailbroken iPhones before but I am having issues with 3.0.

I just watched a few video's on Jailbreaking with Redsn0w.

I went through the simple steps, got the iPhone 3.0 firmware restore file iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore .

I see the running pineapple and the Redsn0w says it is FINISHED but there is no Cydia icon on my iPhone. I power cycled a few times and I even tried doing the Jailbreak a 2nd and 3rd time, nothing.

What am I missing?

Are you jailbreaking on Windows? Some people (including myself) had to right-click and run redsn0w as Administrator...

I tried that IPSW using iTunes 8.2 to restore and when i checked cydia and icy icon was already set.

I tried that, same thing.

Any other suggestions? It says complete in Redsn0w but Cydia is not on the iPhone 3g.

did you restore from backup first or anything? because one time i did that and my cydia icon was hidden. because i poofed it away. was yours hidden before you restored? or in stacks or anything?

I did a restore and then ran Redsn0w a 2nd time and it is working now.
