I see a lot of posts how to downgrade your phone via a PC but how can I do it on my mac? I've seen a few posts where it says I need to download independence .... but I can't get that to work on my iTunes 7.5. I've already got firmware 1.1.1 downloaded and ready to install. Is there a post somewhere which shows you how to downgrade and jailbreak on a mac. Sorry if I'm blind. Thx

my boyfriend just got the iphone, and we live in switzerland. it is the 1.1.2 version i think, cuz wen you turn it on it has the itunes cable and sign on it. would this work for it aswell? his network is swisscom.

The iphone has to have been activated at one time for this to work if it wasnt then it wont work... Stape there are several diff programs you can use for mac....

What are these other programs for macs? I understand how downgrade the firmware to 1.1.1.. but from there I don't know what to after you get that error message. I read independence would work, but like I said it won't run on my iTunes 7.5. If you have a link or any info that would be great Chris. Thanks

Since you cant use Independence, use the jailbreak software that the Dev Team provided to kick your phone out of restore mode. Just extract the zip file and click on "jailbreak.jar", then choose the "Boot from Recovery" button.
