I followed the steps and at the end of the downgrading to 1.1.1 i got an unknown error, it says The iphone can not be restored, an unknown error occurred, (1011)

any idea whats going on?

I followed the instructions, but I can't get to jailbreakme.com; a message keeps popping up that can't connect to safari. Am I missing a step here?

I was when I tried to connect. I've got a wireless setup at home with a decent wireless connection (at least on my laptop!)

I'll have to duplicate my efforts to retrieve the message, but from memory, its the same popup when I cant get any internet.
