original v 1.0 how to jailbreak?
I have the original 1.0 version of the iphone. I now want to put my own apps and ringtones on it. It has been activated since the day they came out but I have never let itunes update the version. Should I keep this version or upgrade to a different version to make jailbreaking easier? what is the easiest version to work with?

Upgrade to version 1.1.1; it is, hands down, the easiest jailbreakable version.
Once at 1.1.1, visit www.jailbreakme.com and scroll to the bottom. Press 'Install AppTapp. You're done! Simple, huh? Link to Firmware 1.1.1 To upgrade, press Shift+Restore (if using Windows) or Option+Restore (if using Mac). Select the file you just downloaded, and let it upgrade. Enjoy! - John |
