Default iTunes Remote and jailbreak for 2.2

I updated iTunes to 8.0.2 and have my iPhone running 2.2 and I have it jailbreak(ed)... sp? jailbroken? Anyway. Everything seems to work great except for the iTunes Remote application. It's prompting me to enter the passcode in by selecting my iPhone device name from the list, but I don't see anywhere to enter it. Has anyone else had this problem or found a work around?

Thanks!

are you on a wireless network? If not, then that's your problem.

This is what it'll look like:

Thanks for the screenshot, that's exactly what I needed. I am on a wireless network, and the app worked fine (was connected to my Library) prior to upgrading iTunes and then jailbreaking 2.2. When I click on my device, I don't see anything about that passcode as depicted in your screenshot, but now I know what to look for and try to make it appear.

Thanks again -

acosmichippo: to get that screenshot with the device listed, did you have the iPhone cradled? or simply on the network... I can't seem to get the device 'seen' as a remote to iTunes.

Anyone else have trouble with this application after jailbreaking 2.2?

my phone is jailbroken too. It's not docked, just on the network. You may also have to enable this:

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Unfortunately, it sounds like we're doing the exact same things... I do have that checkbox enabled in iTunes. But when I go to add my library and get the passcode, nothing shows up in my device list. boooooo.

I'll keep poking around. Maybe I'll add a new Library and see if the old one somehow became corrupted. Thanks.

i've experienced some weirdness like that before, and restarting both devices and deleting the old library in the remote app seemed to do the trick.

Well I stumbled upon the answer! I was standing in the living room talking to my wife about what it was I was trying to do, and my 10-year old son mentioned that on HIS macbook, in HIS iTunes, he was being prompted to connect the remote. But he had no idea what it was, so he was ignoring it.

LOL.

So, the moral is that other machines on the network can jump up and intercept the request. I shut his down, and bang, worked like a charm on mine. Thanks for all the help.
