Iphone wont sync with windows xp or itunes

Hi guys i bought a unlocked iphone off ebay last year.It worked on all South African networks.I dropped it one evening and it would not turn on for almost a day.When it turned on the home button would not work and the software seemed messed up.The iphone is running version 1.0.2 (1C28) model MA712.It came with that version unlocked.My pc is running windows xp sp2 and it is a sony vaio vgn-fe21m.I am running itunes version 7.6.2.9.I have reinstalled itunes too and check that my apple mobile device is started.My pc and itunes did pick up my iphone after i dropped it but when i tryed restoring it with itunes i cancelled the upgrade to version 1.1.4 and since then itunes nor windows will pick up my iphone but it charges throught the usb cable and it shows a message please connect to itunes

Please guys would really appreciate it if you could help.South Africa does not yet have the iphone so apple wont help me

hey man! that happend to me a few month ago the solution is simple, just disable your anti-virus or unblock it from firewall list.
