Default iPhone WiFi will not work with AdHoc network

Thank you for taking the time to read this and help me out.

I have a PC running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

My iPhone is a first generation (2g) iPhone that is jail-broken and unlocked with firmware version 3.1.2 (hacked with pwnage tool).

I am able to use WiFi networks that are not AdHoc, but when i create an AdHoc network with my laptop, the iPhone will connect but not actually get any internet.

Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this?

Thank you.

Are you creating an AdHoc network with 802.11n? If you are, the iphone doesn't have an N receiver.

I really don't know. But I do know that I was able to use my iPhone with my AdHoc network when I was using Vista. I had no problem connecting then.

I am pretty sure my wifi cars can read A/G/N but I do not know how to find out if it is now creating an N signal.

It probably is creating an N signal. I haven't used windows 7 extensively so I can't really help you. I would look into modifying the ad-hoc network though.

Are you using an encryption?

The WiFi portion of pdanet wouldn't work for me if I created an Ad Hoc that was encrypted. I don't know exactly why, but as soon as I recreated my Ad Hoc w/o encryption, it works just fine.

It never worked with encryption on but it did work with no encryption. However, now it wont work with even encryption off. So to answer your question, encryption is off and it still wont work.

Delete your Ad Hoc and try again?

Unfortunately I don't have much else to offer, I created my network again, and it works fine.
