Default Installer updater?

When I get message on the installer that there is an update (the red circle with a number in it), and I don't want to update how do I get rid of it?

I have a current update, I keep updating and it does not go away? It stays there. I re-booted, and it's still there.

Any suggestions?

That happens because the particular item you are trying to update or have installed is one of two things.... 1. An older version ( notice the version info ) and/or 2. the item is on multiple sources. Hopefully one day there will be just one source that everyone could run on. Would help the long refresh rates for certain.

not a whole lot you can do about it. It will just always be there. Perhaps I may be wrong but I doubt it.

Thanks tundra, it would seem as though there might be a way, because what if the update is not desired.

Anyway. . .

i think if it was posible to remove it you would probably need to use ssh or something similar to do it manully.
