Default doin a restore, any last tips?

i've jailbroken and restored my phone then rejailbroken again several times. for whatever reason my phone won't sync with my computer so it looks like i'm gonna do a restore again. i have pretty much everything important backed up with timecapsule, just wondering if anyone had any last bit of advice so when i jailbreak it again i don't go "shit i wish i would have did that"

Biggest thing to get right is when you restore and iTunes asks about either new phone setup or using a backup - choose NEW. Choosing to pull anything back from before has been known to cause all sorts of headaches.

Yes, do that. Also of course, obviously have the Time Capsule backups on your computer.

gotcha, yup i know about the new phone setup, that is a good point though. i have emailed all the time capsule files to my computer, so i'm ready with that. I also have written down all my apps and sources as well just incase anything doesn't work right. my only issue is all my icons and everything that i have customized, but i've taken screen shots so i'll just have to add those as i go.

so i just restored and i ran ziphone again (version 2.6b) and i'm wondering, should i just install timecapsule and go from there with the files i saved on my email, or should i install all the apps i had before then update them with my info from timecapsule?

You may have already done this, but just in case. I would check all the 'basics' are good before even starting on apps etc. restores - check phone functions, YouTube, WiFi, sound etc. - only because it's a b***ch if you spend time getting all you stuff just so again, and then find out something basic is buggered and you've got to re-do anyway.

After that, I'd say maybe do apps first, then Timecapsule ...

I would tend to get those open on a desktop mail account, save the files to your desktop or wherever works, and then get them across the iPhone via SSH - chuck them all somewhere underneath the main Timecapsule folder ...
