I upgraded my v1 to a 3GS and the guy at the store swapped the SIM from my 3G I had into the 3GS, and when I got home I moved my v1 sim into the the 3G so my wife could have that phone. But the guy at the ATT store never put the 3GS SIM back in the box, I am short one SIM now.
I wanted to sell the v1, am I SOL?
I just called the store and they said I can come by and they will give me a SIM. Should I request a unactivated 3GS, cause that is what was swapped out? Or will any old SIM work?
the SIM card that he takes out of the 3GS (or any new iphone) when he opens it is just a peice of plastic...not an actual SIMso you didnt take anything important![]()

Well you should be able to unlock it without a sim card and the person that buys it from you puts his/hers in. Or you can buy one for them but SIM cards is what keeps your phone number so I don't advise that. You can always put yours in to jailbreak and unlock it so then when you sell it they can put theirs in and it's ready with their phone company

Right, they are sold on eBay without SIM's. That's something the buyer provides, it has their phone # and account info tied to it.
