1.1.4 doesn't mean trouble? - iPhone 3G

Hi Guys just going to the UK to purchase iphone. As I am based in Ireland I have no choice but to jailbreak and unlock it. This new update doesnt spell trouble or does it?

well, most importantly, if you buy a phone right now, it is 99.999999% chance it will be a 1.1.2/3 OTB.

so you are good for now.

Check the official 1.1.4 update thread - but so far news is good mostly. The new firmware is still jailbreakable with at least one of the existing methods (ZiPhone). No great news on unlocking on this firmware yet though ...

even if you bought a 1.1.4OTB(not possible at the moment anywhere other than Cupertino, probably), and used ZiPhone, you will wind up with 1.1.2 baseband - unlocked.

Or, you could even downgrade to 1.1.3, then use ZiPhone, you will be GUARANTEED an unlocked 1.1.3 FW, with 04.02.13_G baseband.

and now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

How would I go back from 1.1.4 to 1.1.3? Not too crazy about the latest upgrade.
