I have a 2G iPhone and installed the full-body Invisible Shield when I got it. Later I got a Agent 18 clear hard case and fitted the case over the invisible shield (I know, I know.) It was a snug fit. It has been that way for a few months and now I can cannot remove the Agent 18 case. It does not move even a bit; the tackiness of the invisible shield makes the hard case stuck to it.
Worst come to worst, I do not mind getting the Agent 18 case destroyed during the removal.
It's risky, but you might be able to put the phone in the freezer for a SHORT time in attempt to contract the metal just enough that it will budge free. Never heard of this being done, nor can I guarantee it would work, but I will stress not to leave your phone in the freezer for more than 5 minutes or so or you could permanently damage it.
I did not want to risk the iPhone in a freezer, although I saw a thread here where this guy from Finland tested his iphone by placing in a freezer for half hour.
I tried the brute force method by carefully inserting a flat-head screw driver with an electrical-tape-covered tip and prying it open. With lot of force and several tries, I was able to crack the case, but it still would not come off. I had to crack it at several places and break it in 3-4 peices before it finally came out.
I had the same problem with my iPhone. I used the liquid that came with my Invisible Shield. I managed to spray some in between the case and phone. The liquid created some lubrication (no wise cracks) and the case just slid right off.
Obviously don't go mad and spray loads of liquid in there, but it worked for me. Didn't have to struggle or anything, case just slipped right off.

Can I wisecrack on *this* sentence, then?
