Griffin case issue

I bought a griffin case when I got my iPhone at the reccomendation of the sales guy at the at&t store. I'll post a pic when I get back to my PC. After about 2 weeks of use, the back of the case ripped almost completely off when I pulled the case off my belt. I'm fairly certain I didn't use enough force in removing the case to justify the damage caused. Has anyone had similar issues with a griffin case or any other product. I was going to buy a griffin iTrip, but I'm having second thoughts if the case issue is any indication of griffin's product quality.
