Apples Return policy--IE. Cases?

So my mother bought me a case for my phone since she was near an Apple store this weekend (closest one is about 2 hours away from me) and while I think it is cute, Its just too bulky on the face for me, and covers too much. She said she doesn't have the reciept, and likely threw it away (She was on vacation). So Can I take it back to any Apple store for an exchange of a dif one? or am I out of luck and better of reselling on ebay, and using the cash to buy another?

Apple will have an electronic copy of your receipt. Not to worry. Go back and get what you really want.

^ I may call ahead. I think we're planning on heading up to a mall that has an apple store in it this weekend, and I have to do some other shopping there as well, so It wont be a loss if they say no for some reason. Thanks again!
