I've always thought those cases that cover the entire phone were a bad idea. The iPhone is such a gorgeous design on it's own. Why would I want to cover it up? Besides, why add more bulk to your phone? Keep it as light and thin as possible.
I think this is really bad press for Agent 18. They CAN'T offer to replace your phone. If they did, once the news got out they'd have to replace another 200,000 iPhones and they obviously can't do that without sinking their company.
That's definitely a sticky situation. Yikes.

I pretty much agree with you to a tee.
The full body hard cases just seem to do more damage than they help. Sure they help against drops, but since I've had the first iPhone, (June 30, 2007) I've never dropped my iPhone. I tried the Agent 18 and the incase Slider, both of which crapped up the chrome bezel.
IMO the iPhone is best served to go naked. It looks great and is pretty resistant to scratches in normal use and being in the pocket. With my 3G I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. The plastic back I feel is going to be scratching up easily.
