XRoad “G-Map U.S East” users BEWARE, prospective buyers AVOID - “All Sales are final”

Bottom line, it still sucks. I tested further on today's drive, and here's what I found. Navigation still inaccurate. Just this morning on a simple 17 mile drive to work, mostly highway, it kept having me exit the highway on several exists just to get back on for no reason. It also had me exit at the correct exit, just to get back on, get off an exit further south of it to come back North and exit at the correct exit again (South on Hwy 400, exit 12, back on Hwy 400 South to exit 11, then NORTH on Hwy 400 to exit 12 again). It had good GPS lock and it was not recalculating route, it was actually part of the route itself.

Time and distance remaining still only shows when you first set up the route. As soon as you start driving it disappears, never to show up again. The voice navigation is not a pleasant well spoke voice as it used to be. It is now the TTS (Text To Speech) which is great, but it is very robotic. The only one thing they do seem to have fixed is the constant, inexplicable “Make a U-Turn” prompts.

I would definitely suggest against purchasing this app if you were considering it. I am currently using CoPilot Live North America which is 100 times better and much more functional in every sense. It’s not perfect but compared to G-Maps, it sure is close to perfect. It is option and feature rich, very customizable to what you want it to display in the information bar, and best of all, much much more accurate.
I have not tried Navigon, but from what I’ve read, it too is recommended, though much more expensive.

There you have it folks.. I have unistalled G-Map U.S East and hope never to see it again..
