Fring is now on my 1st home screen. The great thing about Fring is the Twitter compatibility and I Twitter a lot!
I'm also interested in Skype calling. Although I have a lot of minutes to burn, not all of my friends do. Isn't Skype to Skype calling free? Also, Fring probably doesn't work in the background so you'd have to be in Fring to receive a Skype call? I'm not sure how this is all going to work.
(i) via Skype-to-Skype, the calls are free (which now includes calls to/from the iphone thanks to Fring)
(ii) via Skype-to-landline: known as Skypeout (nominally 2 cts/min, though this might vary, alittle)
(iii) via landline-to-Skype: known as Skypein (nominally $18/$60 for 3/12 months).
ooh i thought we can jus use fring to call any number over wifi for free without skype. i have skype but i dont use it much. oh well fring is still really good.
I don't know if any other free IM does this but as long as I'm in fring then lock my phone, I'll get a sound notification that I got a new message. Great feature!
