If you are using Exchange mail and use the DocsToGo with Exchange attachments (costs $5 more than DocsToGo), it opens the attachment in DocsToGo from the exchange server. They are adding Yahoo and GMail support also.

I want to thank you for making me go back to DXTG to try to d/l an attachment again. Previously, when I contacted Dataviz to tell them that I could not get attachments to open and instead got an error message, they explained that the error was caused by "certificates that are custom/ self-signed by the administrator. Basically, any certificate that doesn't have a 'real' CA (Certificate Authority) such as Verisignor Godaddy will not work with DXTG and will cause this error." Because of your comment, I just tried again and succeeded in the d/l of an attachment. I did not realize they had fixed the problem.

Update 1.2 released yesterday says it support "some" self-signed certificates. Have you tried this version?

Maybe it will help.

As you can see from my comment above, I did succeed in getting an attachment to open. I just checked and I do have v. 1.2 installed, and I think I remember doing an update yesterday or the day before. I just didn't bother trying to open an attachment until now. Thanks again.
