Default Whats the deal with ipod accessories w/ the iphone?

I have a car charger and fm airplay boost from xtrememac and they say that the car charger that i bought for the 2g nano(works with all the other ipods) 2 months ago will not work with the iphone... Now is this just BS and they want you to spend more money on a new charger? Also what could happen if i try to use it? I dont want to damage the iphone by trying.

Any one have any experience with the xtrememac stuff?

There is an entire line of accessories just for the iPhone.

Buy some and contribute your money so they can put it into R&D for more Great Apple Products.

I know there are an entire line for the iphone... My point is, if something i have already works for the iphone, why should i go spend more money on another one? You have extra money to buy me one?
and I wanted to know if the companies are lying about everything they sold prior to the iphone coming out dont work for the iphone, but in reality they just changed the color and say now it works for the iphone.
As for contributing money, I think there was enough iphones being sold that it wont be a problem for new R&D, especially if all the old chargers are the same and they are selling more...
Also is it safe to try the xtrememac car charger to see if it works, or could it do damage?

well, i decided to try my Belkin Belkin TuneSync w/usb hub with the Iphone and it worked flawlessly. It charges the iphone and links up with itunes with no problems so far... Next i am gonna try the xtrememac car charger and see if that works...
Again i think all the basic accessories for the prior ipods will work with the iphone, I just think companies are saying they wont so you will buy a new one off them.

It doesn't seem like the Belkin power and dock connector work with the iPhone.

I use this to connect and power my iPod to my cars' aux port.

If you click on my link above for the tunesync, that is the dock i have. I have been using it with my iphone without any problems. Its syncs with itunes and charges with no issues so far.

My original post was for the xtrememac car charge i bought 2 months ago. I called xtreme mac and they said it wouldnt work and to purchace their new one. Their new won looks cool, but i only need one for emergencies in the car for when my batt is dead. So i tried the old one anyway and so far it charges with no problems...

Thought i would just let everyone know.
