IMO, the suction cup mount to the windshield puts your iPhone too far away for easy use. I'd rather see a mount that uses the cigarette lighter and a flex cable to hold the entire mounting unit. That would eliminate the charging cord. I'd also like to see an FM transmitter option so that you could have the GPS guidance and music through your radio without having cords hanging all over. The additional built in GPS is cool and the mount looks well built but two cords running down the dash IMO is not in keeping with the sleek look and lines of the iPhone.

The suction cup mount is the most universal option. Other options may be more limited by the car. For example, a cigarette light mount in Golf would be tough as it is tucked in a an awkward location that works for a charger, but tough on a mount.

To the last post, there is still no announced price.

And for iPod users, I found an interesting post on Gizmodo about using the car kit with an iPod touch:

http://gizmodo.com/5339070/confirmed...ird-party-apps

Good news: According to Yann Lafargue, PR guy at TomTom, the incoming TomTom GPS Car Kit will work with the iPod touch, enabling full GPS capabilities in Apple's smart multimedia player:
Oui, je confirme et il fonctionnera avec un iPod Touch ou d'autres logiciels de navigations concurrents. Pour la disponibilité, je ne peux pas répondre.
It will work with the iPod touch and other competing GPS (iPhone OS) software. I can't comment on availability.
In other words, the car kit contains a full GPS, which apparently will not only work with the iPod touch, but also replace the iPhone's GPS with a faster, more accurate unit.

I have a cradle that I bought at target for alot less. (like $105 less) and it works perfect. Dont need to remove my phone from a case or anything---seems that you would have to always remove the phone from the case by the looks of that "snap" in cradle.
