I like my screen nekkid. The 3GS screen is much easier to clean than the 3G.

I am going without a protector on this one. It is soooo easy to clean and I baby it anyway, so I am not too worried about scratches. Had the phone for 10 days or so and the screen is still perfect.

Doesn't really matter. I will be selling it by then and getting the new one.

After 359 days with no screen protector, my 3G only has some very faint/minor scratches that you can only see in certain lighting and only when the phone is off. Certainly nothing you can see during usage. I think the phones look best without them.

I agee. I know we paid a lot of money for these phones and should do all we can to take care of them and keep them nice. On the flip side though, we also got them to show off and use the way we want. I have yet to put a case on my 3Gs. I know I will at some point , but right now it looks so good as is that I choose not to case it.
It's one thing to baby your phone and take good care of it, but I am not going to put mine in a vacuum because there might be a risk of a hairline scratch that you have to look hard to see.

^Exactly. That's why I go with a beautiful minimalist case with no screen protector. Some of the cases out there are horrendous.

I can tell by your post that you would really love the Otterbox Defender. LOL
