This is true, but not really a big deal. I believe the iPhone uses
Nand Flash (same as the iPod Nano). If so, it has a life expectancy of about 1 million cycles. I doubt the flash is going to fail before some other component does. No matter how you slice it though, the benefits of flash far out weigh the benefits of HD in a mobile device.
