Default Monoprice battery backup

I just got this battery backup charger from monoprice ( http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...mat=4#feedback ) and I love it. It charged my iPhone back to 96% and it is now displaying the following msg:

"This accessory is not made to work with the iPhone.
Charging is not supported with this accessory."

What does this mean? Has anyone else got a similar msg with other batter backups?

clean out the connection ports. Something is blocking one of the pins from making proper contact.

3G or 3GS? If it's the latter, I think this means that the charger is designed for a 3G, and the 3GS draws too much power for it. I get this message from the gitgo with my old V1/3G battery charger on my 3GS.

You might be able to charge it most of the way, but I believe this is why you are getting this message before it is finished.

20 bucks for an 2,200 mAh battery? That is a great deal and the highest portable power I have seen yet. The site says that it's for both the 3g and 3gs, so like others said you probably have a contact problem. Nice find btw.

I found out that this error msg only pops up when the backup battery is empty.

So far I love this product: It provides one full charge for the iPhone, does not make the iPhone too bulky or heavy and it even has a cut out for the camera lens. And the price makes this a no brainer ...

I have received this message quite often with my iPWR battery backup. it usually occurs when the iPWR battery is low on power. I have contacted the company president and he has re-calibrated the batteries for 3GS, even giving me free ones to test and keep.
