Iphone music through Car audio PERFECTLY

I don't understand, if you have an auxiliary port in your car, just buy a cable and plug the iphone into that, that is your best bet to get a clear transmission. I don't understand these fm transmitters that you also have to plug into an aux port.

The problem is if you don't have an auxiliary port in your car. Most people don't. You don't plug a FM transmitter into an aux port. You plug it into a power outlet (cigarette lighter) and it broadcasts over a FM station.

I've decided to keep the Belkin TuneBase FM that I bought. It works passibly for me. Barely. Better than earbuds being the only option. Barely. Almost always some backround hiss, most noticable with softer music. Depending on location, sometimes significant interference.

My car has a USB port to plug in an iPod/iPhone so it plays PERFECTLY through the car stereo.

I bought a modulator from crutchfield.com and while you have to take apart your vehicle to get install it it works like a charm and crystal clear clarity. And mine also charges my iphone 3g at the same time. I will try and find the link but I was never able to from there site I hade to call in and ask for this type of setup. I will post pics of my setup once I get home right now I am on the phone. Also I have had my wife call me to see if it works but unless you have the phone right to your mouth or scream at the top of your lungs you can barely be heard but hearing the other person is no problem. Now if someone can just suggest a good holder that I can put in my cup holder and just hold the iphone up so I can see my screen. I can change tracks from my factory stereo. But it doesn't show the name of the song.

I have an iCarPlay from Monster and it does not charge the 3G iPhone.

The sound quality (from my iPod with click wheel) was excellent in the rental car I was using when I bought the iCarPlay but is almost always lousy in my Saab 900S. It acts like the signal is very weak, so there's lots of hiss, low volume, etc.

The reviews I've read are polarized: Some people think the iCarPlay is excellent, some lousy. The trick is, you don't know which group you're in 'til you've shelled out the money for one.
