Bass is suprisingly good given the relatively small size of the unit. The unit gets plenty loud for outside use in my neighborhood. If you go to Best Buy you can check it out, at least you can in my local stores.

For me the best part is charging the phone. By weekend afternoons my battery is low...I listen to the music (actually internet radio usually with Wunderradio) for an hour or so on the Bose and I'm back charged up for the evening.

Can someone recommend some speakers for me please?

Must be battery operated with a wall charging option.
Must also charge iphone 3gs when plugged into wall.
Must work without airplane mode - no interference.
Must be portable but not pocketable
Sound must be as loud as possible.
Up to an absolute maximum of £100 but preferably less than £50

Any suggestions?

Have a look at the chill pill. Great reviews. I don't own it yet but I am ordering today on eBay. $37USD incl shipping.

Anyone got any views on the above

I have one of those little speakers, I got it as a gift. it has surprisingly good sound (mine is mono) and is surprisingly loud.

But you can get these for a cheap price I think if you shop around. That chill pill was really pricey.
