I have the Griffin AutoPilot 3G one.. it blows. Reception is just horrid, it's like it doesn't send the signal out strong enough.

Most do.

The message here for all is dont waste your time or any money on FM transmitters. I have wasted enough for everyone.

THEY DONT WORK WELL AT ALL.

Use cassette or add an adapter/dock to your car's radio. Or buy a set of portable speakers (livespkr).

I had a std plug in Itrip on my Nano and this is so much better sounding, charges, has built in Fuse, FF/RW on Charger tip saves touching phone. Best feature is the auto tune to strongest frquancy.Stereo Broadcast and RDS mode to display tracks on compatible RDS Radio (not all car radios display all details. My Astra says just itrip my wifes Picasso scrolls)

Whats a good stereo deck that works well with the iphone for music and streaming etc?

My problem is for my car an FM transmitter is my only choice. I have a 2004 Volvo XC90 and it does not have an AUX on it and there is NOT a reasonable option for an aftermarket stereo because of the design of the center console.
I have a one i bought from the Apple store but its fallen apart still works kind of but need a better solution

I got mine from Wal-Mart. It cost around $70. It's a Scosche bluetooth transmitter and plugs into the bottom charger part. It has a rechargeable battery. You'll have to connect through bluetooth with your stereo. If you want a FM transmitter they have those also for around $10, its a Scosche, takes two AAA batteries, have an annoying bright blue light and it plugs into the 3.5mm earphones jack and all you have to do is pick the station range on the transmitter and then go to it on your cars radio. The cheapest way is to get a 3.5mm jack on both ends, it cost about $4 and plugs from your iPhone into your stereo (if your stereo has the input jack) because it avoids batteries the the hassle of connecting.
