I am quoting myself:

I should add that Bose has exception customer support. In March 2005 I bought the original Bose Soundock for my ipod and we have been using it at the beach condo. I was disappointed that it was incompatible with the iPhone 3G, so I called and asked if an upgrade was available.

My customer service rep said there was no upgrade program per se... but they had a lot of latitude in providing customer service. He said that my discontinued soundock was selling for about $230 though discontinued stock liquidators. He offered me a $230 credit toward my new Bose Soundock II as an exchange. I was shocked... and it really makes me feel good to do business with Bose.

We do own a TON of Bose equipment:
- Two QuietComfort 2 noise canceling headsets for commercial flights
- AM5 speakers for the den
- Two sets of comuter speakers for the PCs
- Bose Home Theater system for theater room
- Bose Soundock for the beach condo
- Wave radio for the bedroom
- Four Bose aviation headsets for the plane

So... maybe that was a contributing factor in the generous trade-in policy... but I have always had the feeling that Bose customer support was 2nd to none in the industry... so I have felt comfortable buying from them.

Default Does anyone own this one?

I need/want one as well. Been looking at the Extrememac Luna X2. They also have a new one called Voyager (Travel), don't think it's available yet. Sounds like the Luna is kind of hard to come by. Some people seem to have gotten a much earlier version which did not work with the Iphone 3g, but the new ones apparently work.
If anyone has one, love to know what you think of it, maybe post a pic or two.

I just bought two units as birthday presents for each of my girls for their iPhone 3Gs. My wife and I have our iPhone 3Gs connected to a Bose Wave in our bedroom. We also have Bose Soundock II that we use in our beach condo.

I have been enjoying Pandora and Internet Radio... and thought the girls would like it too, as well as having a charging dock.

Update:

The two iHome clock radios arrived today. Overall, I am pleased. The sound quality is about what I expected, and the integrated dock is a nice option for listening to music.

In no way does it compare to either my Bose Soundock II which we use for travel... or the Bose Wave Radio that I have in my bedroom. However, those are about $300 and $500 respectively. The girls are delighted with their new clock radios, and the sound is fine at moderate volumes.

If you get this... make sure that you use the procedure I described to get it for $99 rather than $129.

Default Clockradio

Well still on the look out. Found out that since Xtrememac has been taken over by a new Company, they are not delivering outside the US. That sucks for your northern neighbors. And the new ihome ip99 that i've found for sale around here still gives me the accessory nag screen, which drives me crazy.

Anyway, there seems to be some new HD radio alarm clocks that are compatible with the Iphone 3g. And there seems to be alot of controversy over HD radio, whether it will take off or fizzle out. The new Sony XDRS10HDiP and iLuv iHD171 looks promising but can't seem to find many reviews on them, especially the iLuv. Seems that I can forget about finding either of these for sale in BC.
Does anyone have either of these to share an opinion?

Does anyone have hands-on experience with the Logitech Pure-Fi Anytime Premium Alarm Clock for iPhone

In particular, I'm interested in the display brightness. I just bought the Sony ICF-C1ipmk2, which I like alot, but the display is keeping me awake at night, so its got to go back.

I've read alot of reviews about the Logitech, but other than one pointing out that the display is orange, and not red, but I haven't seen anything (good or bad) about the display brightness.

Since I can't find this unit in stock in any B&M store, I thought I'd ask you guys...

Thanks in advance!!

I asked my girls, and they said that they do not get the nag screen with their iHome IP99BX units that I bought them.

My experience in docking my iPhone 3G is the screen pops up occasionally... and I have been only using genuine apple universal docks... or my Bose Soundock II. I have 3 of the Apple universal docks, one each for home, work, and travel.

I cannot figure out what makes it trigger... but for sure if I plug it into the dock a bit crooked I am more likely to get the nag screen. Sometimes I am certain that I plug it in nice and square, and still the nag screen will pop up. Maybe it is when the 3G is inserted too fast or too slow. I really can't figure it out. I would say I get the nag screen about 10% of the time I insert the unit into a dock. I really think that Apple blew it on this one. They have developed too fragile of a system.

I'm glad you brought up the iHome unit.

Recently I had a friend who purchased the same one, he was so excited for it.
Then the next time I went to his house for Poker night the guy wouldn't shut up about what a piece it was. I took a closer look at it and it really looked like the same iHome unit I had for my iPod 2years ago with minor changes.

I'm in the market for some speakers for the iPhone3G right now and have been playing around with a couple different ones. If I find anything I'll post in here what I get out of it.

Personally, I would not be satisfied with iHome units for myself... but the girls use them as both charging stations, and for low level music and/or books on tape.

I use a Bose Soundock II, which I find acceptable. I was not willing to spend $600 so the girls could have them as well. I was willing to spend a total of $200 for them ($99 each).
