Default Car stereo for iPhone 3g...

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Sony-...oductDetail.do

is that a good car stereo for the iphone 3g? in the reviews someone says it works perfect for iphone but he doesnt specify if 3g or not...or does anyone have any other suggestions that is better than this one for around $200....

does anyone know if this one comes with the ipod cable or how much they cost?

thanks for any help

If it has an aux output on the front you can just connect it through the headphone port with a male to male 3.5 cable and it works perfectly, thats how i have my v1 iphone hooked up i dont see why it wouldnt work with a 3g.

I wouldn't bother with Son'y CD players, they are not very good[well the cheap ones]. I went to a local electronic store here in Milwaukee and a sales person recommended this to me. I told him, I wanted something that I could use BT to talk to people in the car and has the ability to play my iphone 3G songs, on it too. I also said that HD radio would be nice. He pointed me to this CD player. Only thing missing was the HD, but it was HD ready, so I could buy a converter later, if I want.

This unit, using a usb cable, hooks up your iphone, and thru the unit, not the iphone, you can control your tunes and answer incoming calls, or make outgoing calls. If you are listening to something on the iphone, it stops it, and allows you to answer the call or ignore it, thru the unit. Yes, it resumes the song when you're done. It also charges your phone too. Only bad thing about this unit is, the manual. There's none, it's on a freaking CD!! Yeah about 80 pages of my own paper were use to print the manual out, so annoying and so many pages. Oh yeah, also the biggest manual ever for me as well, lol.

There's 2 types, the 7000 model and the 700 model. The only difference is that the 700 is the elite model call Premier, with a 2 year warranty. The 7000 model is only 1 year. Check it out guys, I only had it for a day and I'm already loving it. No more, please speak up I can't hear you. No, I just turn the volume up on the CD player, and so far they say I sound fine to them. But be warn, I did this phone test by my house, which has 5 3G bars, so I don't know about other places with lower bars. I will test it more this week.

Best thing.. Control the phone and iPod through the front panel.

Mm... Not really. iDA-X001 is not compatible with the original iphone or the 3g
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Apple/?p=676

The Pioneer DEH-P700BT is closer, but still has problems. It's 'ipod' compatible, not iphone... People complain that after hanging up from a call, the unit doesn't resume playing without disconnecting and reconnecting the iphone. Also, some find that it forgets the bluetooth pairing occasionally

There is some buzz about the new sony xplod CDX-GT630UI , but again, support is for the "ipod" not "iphone"
http://www.xplodsony.com/xplod/headunits/CDX-GT630UI

I hate to say it, but it will probably be another year before we see any really decent in-dash solutions for the iphone or the 3g. I've had the same problem looking for desktop/portable speaker accessories... The device is just too new.

In the meantime, you might check out this add-on from Motorola -- The IHF1000.

If your stereo has RCA jacks in the back, this will give you the ability to take calls and listen to music on your car stereo... the only thing missing is the ability to control the iphone from the stereo.
(This website is blocking out the url above... its store.i-p-h-o-n-i-a-c-s.com without the dashes. Really lame censorship, guys.)

You can get on of those units that plug into the head set jack for thirty dollars and transmit your music to any radio from your iPhone.

Actually I have both the original iPhone and the 3g and I use both on the iDA-X001 deck with no issues.. You should check your facts.. I looked at the link too.. maybe that guy doesn't know what's up, (you have to get the high speed cable) but it sure works for me..

I have a Sony Head Unit and it works just fine. The only issue is it will not charge the iPhone.

The AUX input works well too.

I have this HD Dual unit in my car:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-AZfTfnt...x?i=070XHD6425

It has a front aux plug which works great with my 3G. It also has a front USB port that you can plug a flash drive loaded with music into. I can't remember the last time I used the CD player because the USB port is so handy.

The link is broken for the iDA-X001 there is a space in there.
I went to the Alpine website and searched for iDA-X001 and it brough a couple documents up, but I couldn't click on them, and it's not in the product list either.
Maybe it was already superceded with something else. This is the closest thing I found on there site:
