Default Apple has this cassette tape adapter...

it says.. supports iphone on it.. nothign else in their store does. Do you guys think this cassette tape is just as viable as the other options out there, seeing as they are not many?

See other ipod to car audio sites for more in-depth info on potential solutions for your specific situation.

Basically, the cassette tape adapter is the second lowest common method of getting audio from a headphone jack to a cassette deck equipped stereo that has no other inputs. The only thing worse is (most) FM transmitters.

Two great things about it, it's the cheapest solution (if you have a casette deck), and it's the most common form of input method on the road for older model cars (the cassette adapter dates back to the early days of the sony walkman!).

Otherwise, the sound quality is worse than more expensive solutions.

I've also noticed the GSM radio (aka: phone and EDGE data) noise is much worse on my friends car with the casette adapter (and the adapter tends to eject itself if there's a longer than normal period of silence between songs) than the USA Spec device I use that hooks up to the CD changer port of my car stereo.

I've found the audio to be quite good. Unless you're an audiophile, its a good way to go

I am using it in a Chrysler 300C and the sound quality is the best I have heard through a tape adapter.

Well sure, it's a decent tape adapter, I didn't mean to say it wasn't.

Just saying that if possible, an adapter that runs directly into the head unit is going to sound better than a tape adapter can (either built-in iPod support, a line in, or CD changer connection).

I haven't tried it, but I've heard that the devices that connect between the antenna cable and the radio (basically, a hard wired FM transmitter) sound better than cassette adapters or wireless FM transmitters too.

Default I want to use my aux. for my IPHONE but CANT!!

I own a Chrysler 300 and mine didn't come with a tape deck however it came with an AUX input. I have the aux. cable I used with my IPOD and the audio was perfect. Now, when I plug that same cable into my IPHONE, I get no audio. PLEASE HELP! I hate FM transmitters. I really want to use my AUX for my iphone. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions?

Probably your jack to the iPhone isn't connecting properly. Take a look at the jack. Is there a small ring at the base that can be easily and safely removed. Go ahead and cut around the circle and remove it. Then reinsert and try it again. You will probably be successful.

The other way would be to get an adaptor. Belkin makes one and I heard the Griffin is a little better. Both about $10.

Good luck and you'll probably be up soon enough.
