I bought this tape adapter from the local Apple store. This iPod stuff is new to me and I have a tech question:

How should I set the volume on the iphone when playing through the tape adapter?

I did notice some funny beeping noises while playing music. This happened 3 times during an hour of playing. A previous reply indicated that it may be EDGE connection noises - but I am not sure why that would be as I was only playing music.

This adapter worked fine with phone operation. The song would fade and then I could hear the person through the car speakers. I did need to manually unlock the phone to answer - painful. I simply spook and the caller could hear me fine without having to move the phone to my face.

I really would like to have pure audio input to the car sterio rather than through this tape adapter - but will have to wait to buy something for my cars sterio. This is a nice - cheap start to iphone songs in my car.

You have to start a song on your phone, and while its playing connect it.. I have the dock that plugs into my car cigarette lighter. It wasnt working either when I would put the iPhone on then start the song, but if I play the song through iPhone speakers then put it on, it starts coming out of the car speakers

Goodluck!

Thanks for the 50% tip - that was what I was using. Another thing using the tape deck:

How do I avoid always adjusting the cars volume for each song?

It seems for every song I need to increase or decrease the volume. I got all my songs from my own CDs. Again, I am new to this iPod thing, but I am LOVING it! It is sweet to get in the car and have my favorites at my finger tips.
