Wouldn't it be better to do an oval coutout on the top... Just my opinion.. I'm not an expert.. maybe you had to cut out that way but it looks kind of awkward.. but maybe in a full pic it might look better... I apologize if I sound like a critic but our iphones have to look the best right....

Much respect....

Tru-Dat,
I cut it like that for the sensors on either side of the earpiece, and that's the way my case mate cover is cut. I thought it looked the most reasonable. I can do one with a large oval, but it might look weird-er.
Looking at the face, There are two round sensors on the left side of the earpiece. I'm not sure if there's one on the right side, I couldn't see one, but I figure the case mate had to be cut like that for a reason, perhaps it was to keep the look symmetrical.

Here is a rough example of what an oval would look like. The red circles are the approximate location of the sensors.
edit: I found a third sensor far left of the earpiece. It seems I have covered it after all, as when I go outside, the screen does not auto-brighten...What a conundrum...

That might work. I'm home now so it'll have to wait until monday.
I need to get exact measurements on the sensors so that I can leave space accordingly. Why did they have to put the daylight sensor so far on the left!?
I thought it was magic at first! They should have left it magic!

Edit again: I took off the anti-glare screen cover. It made the graphics look like trash. White screens were all rainbow and other stuff lost sharpness. So what I did was just stick the vinyl directly onto the glass. I know, I know I didn't recommend this at first, but if I use high-performance vinyl it will not leave a residue. It looks kick-A applied directly to the glass. I'll post some pics tonight.

Edit: Pics with anti-glare screen

How do I embed a video?

Pics of vinyl directly on glass.

I was looking for a case for the 3g on youtube and found this. www.decalgirl.com
Or on YouTube look up 3g case decal girl
S-man I like what it looks like so far but try one with just the 3 sensor holes cut out.

I remember hearing about decalgirl before...They have everything! Just when you think you've thought up something new, someone has already one-upped you! hah. Yeah, I'll make one with like a squareish oval cut out for the sensors, much like the case mate case i posted.

S-man you created almost exactly what I was hoping for ever since that fake pic of colored 3G's was released on the net. If you were to create the screen protector with just the holes for the sensors and earpiece as opposed to the oval or current cutout I would definitely buy one. This is the pic I am talking about:
