It works....I just want to make sure it won't fry the battery.

I'm not sure how many of the chargers will fry the battery but make sure that it says (specifically) that it is compatible with the iPhone 3G. I tried using my v1 car charger with the 3G and it said that the device was not compatible and wouldn't charge. I had to buy another one which was really annoying.
