    Syncing video seems long!

I could be wrong but it seems that when I sync movies they are taking a good bit longer than before. When I sync it's good and fast and the backup takes less than a minute it's just the video. I timed it today and for 750 meg (3 NCIS episodes) it took 18 minutes after it started copying the 1st video. I seem to remember putting on a gig and a half for a couple movies in about 10 minutes. Is it me or is this slow.

Syncing video does take a while, if you are putting episodes onto the phone it's going to take a while, as it syncs in sections. Just be patient

18 minutes for that size sounds like it's connecting at USB 1.0 speeds. Have you tried another cable?

Thanks, I tried a second cable, then I tried a different USB port on the back of my iMac and it's consistently 17-18 minutes for 3 episodes and each episode is in the 270-275 MB range. It really seems like I was transferring 600-700 MB movies in the 5-6 minute range so I'll mess with it some more.

I just put 3 movies on my phone and it took 32 minutes. They totaled at 1.6 GB so I guess that's what I'm gonna get. Somewhere around 10-12 minutes a 2 hour movie around 6 minutes for a 45 minute episode. I do know that putting movies on an SD card for my old iPaq took about 1-2 minutes. Oh well.

I would give Apple a call and see if they have any advice. That's definitely way slow. Are you running the latest firmware/iTunes version?

    iTunes 9.0.2 (25)
    os 3.1.2

I think it's slow too but just a regular sync is really fast! I guess I can just restore it and try without the jailbreak.

Is it only certain video files or all video files? And are these files that used to sync quickly?

Dave I just copied a movie from the iMac hard drive that was 1.1 GB in 1.5 minutes! All these other movies and show episodes I have on an external hard drive!

Ah... the external is USB? It's probably running at USB 1.0.
