iPhone not activating

Hi
I am on O2UK and have an iPhone 3GS. Today I restored my phone to 3.1 but for some reason it still has not activated yet. Does anyone know why this is? It has one bar of reception but does not have the carrier logo. Please help.

its unable to unlock so it wont be activated

How do I make it unlock? This is running on a contract for O2, I haven't unlocked the iPhone to make it use different carrier.s

Well the 3.1 hasn't been unlocked yet

I didn't think it needed unlocked if it is using the carrier it is meant to be used with.

Hi there, try going onto safari.

I had the same issue with mine. Turned out the internet worked, and everything else. But it would not activate.

Ended up calling o2 and they sent me a new handset. Problem solved.

I have the same on a new iphone today put my contract sim card in the phone and it works but no internet.
but the sim card that came with the phone wont work in the phone as i cant activate it.
driving me mad lol

Does not sound like O2 has provisioned (activated the phone). Call them.

It can take o2 up to 24 hours to activate a handset, although its usually done within 5 minutes. If it still isnt activated, reset network settings, if that doesnt work, restore as a new device.

If that doesnt work, sent it back for a replacement.
