Apple needs to order a recall on some phones.

I took my iPhone 3gs to the apple Store today because of wifi issues. I can't get more than one bar and my wifi speeds are three times slower than 3g. Wifi is supposed to be faster than 3g. They gave me new phone. While still in the store I tested it. It had the same wifi problem. I pointed it out to the apple technician and he assured me that it was because the apple store had terrible wifi due to all the devices connected to it. I get home and WTF, the same thing is happening. I've read pages and pages of comments online about this very issue. I think there is something wrong with some phones that can't be fixed by software updates. My iPhone 3g never had this problem. I am so mad I have to find time to drive all the way back there.

Oh man that blows. Before you drive the sixty miles try this just for kicks and giggles. Turn off wi-fi then turn on airplane mode. Wait about 15 minutes. Reboot your IPhone, turn airplane mode off, then turn wi-fi back on. Had the same problem with my 3Gs & this fixed it, with no problems since. Good Luck.

Thanks, I will try that. It gives me hope. I already made a reservation for Thursday, hope this saves me the trip. If I still have to go I will not leave the bar until I have %100 tested the replacement.

try going back to the store and to prove your point ask them to try wifi with a 3G. They should have plenty of 3G refurbs there. try it side by side with your 3GS. Have them order you one from Apple so you would get one from a different batch.

    Good Luck
