Apple Auto Updating Repaired iPhones

Sending my 3GS in for repair and set it up today and got this email to confirm it and on the bottom it said

WARNING: Apple has discovered that some of the unauthorized unlocking programs available on the Internet may cause irreparable damage to the iPhone's software. As part of the service process, Apple will update the software on your iPhone to the latest version. IF YOU HAVE MODIFIED YOUR IPHONE'S SOFTWARE, YOUR IPHONE MAY BECOME PERMANENTLY INOPERABLE WHEN APPLE UPDATES THE SOFTWARE. Making unauthorized modifications to the software on your iPhone violates the iPhone software license agreement, and the inability to use your iPhone due to unauthorized software modifications is not covered under your iPhone's warranty.

I'll guess you where unable to clean any JB applications out before sending the iPhone to Apple!? Otherwise I respect Apple for sending this message to you! (don't get me wrong..)

Yeah I was able to I think it is just a standard thing they put on all of the emails now.

I just got my 3GS back today and it has 3.0.1 on so I guess they arent doing this automatically.

This notice used to be posted two years ago at the Apple store when Jailbreaking first began. It's nothing to worry about.

You had to send a 3GS off to be repaired? Normally with a problem I just book a genius appointment and if they cant fix it they replace it.

Happened twice with my 3GS and about 5 times with my 3G

Yeah, I live in the North East and the nearest Apple store is Manchester
