Dude thats funny cause now I can't find it. When I got my first text message it gave me a choice of showing it on the front screen or not. I also found it in settings. Now I can't. This is really creepy. Let me play around with it some more.

Ok I can't find it now either but I am not BS'ing when I told you I did have an option when I first got it. Its weird. Im still scratching my head over it.

Well I have mine with a passcode lock set up for 4 hours in case someone steals my phone they wont be able to get into it without a passcode, anyways the SMS preview is there, under Settings>General>Passcode lock and show SMS preview is at the bottom, I am not sure but it may work even with your phone doesn't have a passcode lock set.

No, because when you first go there, the number board comes up for you to enter a pass code. So it has to be enabled first.

Things I dont like:

-Battery life. Yeah I know 3g is a pig and was forewarned beforehand but it really stinks

-No "status light" I miss that from almost every other smart/pda phone I had. Its nice to just look down and have a blinking red/green/yellow/white light telling you if you need to charge, have a VM/TXT message etc.

Other then that I'm really happy. I use to really say "I NEED MMS" but dont really care anymore. Most people I know have smartphones/PDA phones and get email on phones these days. Plus there are some workarounds. Just tell people to MMS the pic to your email address (if their phone can do that) and boom you got the picture. Once they do you have their MMS email address and can reply with pics and 90% of the time it works just as MMS.

Copy/Paste I do kind of miss and would love that too.

Yea, I was just playing around with it, if you set a passcode and turn the txt preview off it just gives you the name of the person sending the txt without previewing what it says but if you turn the lock off it gives you the txt preview.

to change it

In Settings, choose General > Passcode Lock and tap Show SMS preview

if you do not have a passcode when you go passcode lock it will make you make a passcode. just make one like 1234 then turn off sms preview then turn off passcode lock.
