    quick question

    does a backup save the pictures in your camera roll. my wife wants to update hers to 3.0 but she has a gillion pictures. Will it back them up?

    Pictures aren't backed up. If you just update, you won't lose anything though.
    You can transfer them off, just open the iPhone in Windows Explorer, and copy them to a folder. That way if the update goes bad, you aren't out pictures.
