phone screen crashing

When i touch the phone icon on the menu it goes to a blank phone pad then exits out back to the main screen. Does anyone else have this problem?

Do a hard reset and this should fix the problem. If it continues, return to Apple for a replacement. But unfortunately things like this are all too common and a hard reset usually does the trick.
