Default No luck at the Apple store in San Francisco :(

Went by there around 9 am and the line was around the block. Went back at 1 pm and it's still the same. Anyone in the Bay Area have any luck that didn't camp? Might have to do the usual Saturday morning run. Worked like a charm last year.

I have a feeling its going to be like this a while. The lines are longer than last year and moving slower because of the forced activation in store and people having issues activating. Last year at least it was a "I'll take the 8GB one, here is my credit card, thank you drive through" situation that only took a few minutes per customer.

What I'm wondering is what are they going to do when the stores hit closing time and there are still 200 people in line that have been waiting for hours?

Those same people that didn't get one today are just going to go tomorrow.

Was this at the downtown store or the Stonestown Mall store?

That's a shame. I think the demand was obviously better than they expected.
