Needing help! downgrade Iphone~

Hi guys,

I have read endless information about Downgrading to 3.0 firmware also jailbreak - unlock with red snow!

Just abit stressed out as I still haven`t found a solution to jailbreak my iphone. It is currently stuck in recovery mode. Let me give you a break down on what I have done. If someone can please tell what I have done wrong~ Thanks in Advanced...


- Installed itunes 8.2 64bit for windows vista.

- Put phone in DFU mode then restored with 3.0 firmware.Renamed the zip file into ipsw.

-came up with intunes error 1500.

- From here phone went into recovery mode. Asking to restore it.

-I still ran redsnow follwed all the instuctions and phone went into jailbreaking mode then displayed the pineapple man loading apps etc.

-After that had finished redsnow browser had said finished. installation was complete but phone is still in recovery.

-I disconnect and reconnect my iphone to itunes and message comes up iphone is in recovery mode iphone will need to be restored...


Have I done everything right?? Is there something i need to do after?? Thank you in advance and apologies for my lack of knowledge..This is my first attempt jailbreaking....

just like to add my iphone 3g was updated to 3.1 in itunes 9 . so I had attempted to downgrade the firmware to jailbreak with redsnow....geez I hope this make sense!

Try this....worked for me and I spent 2 days trying to accomplish downgrading before I found the following method.....but follow it EXACTLY

1. DFU and Fresh restore to 3.1

2. DFU and restore to 3.0 making sure you get error: 1015

3. LEAVE ITUNES OPEN

4. Use QuickPwn just to activate it...TRUST ME THIS IS ONLY TO ACTIVATE THE PHONE>>>NOT JAILBREAK IT.....when you open quickpwn it will tell you that your iphone is off and for you to hold down Power+HOME for 15 sec. Then press Power for 2 secs......this will activate it in itunes which is what we want. FOLLOW THIS EXACTLY

5. Close itunes

6. NOW you can use Redsn0w 0.8 for the jailbreak part.

You need to do step 4 to make sure the phone gets activated before you jailbreak it otherwise you will end up with a jailbroken iphone on 3.0 with no signal.

This worked for me and lots of others.
