First off, you guys post up some good info here..been lurking for awhile.
Let me give some background.
3G phone bought it new in September. Jailbroke it a couple months back. Recently I installed winterboard, SBSettings, OpenSSH, and StatusNotifier
Yesterday I noticed that with around 2 hrs 16 mins of use, the battery was completely dead. I did have SSH enabled in SBSettings because I have read it does not use battery unless there is an active connection. Wifi disabled and no PUSH or fetch, its all manual, brightness like it always has been at auto dim, about halfway on the scale.
I decided to enable numeric battery indicator in SBSettings to show me the percentage used.
Last night around 11:15pm I plugged the phone in to charge. I unplug and power on this morning at 6:45am and the phone was only charged to 90%. which shocked me, I swore it would have fully charged within a few hours..
I top the charge off at work to 100% so I can view the usage stats for the day. Right now I am at 86% battery remaining with 39m usage (browsing facebook, checked email, NO PHONE CALLS) and Standby of 4 hrs 51 mins.
I know there is many variables that can affect this.
Is this all in my head that the battery is draining quick (because now I can see the actual percentage number, if I keep the standard battery icon on, it shows its full, becuase it only drops in certain increments) or is my battery dying to quick?
Status Notifier has been a major problem for me. I've installed/uninstalled three separate times and everytime it on my phone I notice a significant change in battery life. With Status Notifier I'd go from 100% to 50-60% in 2-3 hours.
Try removing Status Notifier and see if your battery life improves.
