Unhappy iphone not Detected at all - tried everything

so my problem came all of a sudden. I was using my iphone on Friday and then over the weekend I took it home and was using it to play music on my stereo which has an ipod port attachment. the message "this accessory is not meant to work with iphone" popped up but I ignored it and played my music anyways. When I got to work on Monday I realised I forgot the iphone at home. I took another of our office's iphones and i put some of my music on it just temporarily until I remembered to bring in my own iphone.

then, the next day I went to plug in my iphone and it wasnt being detected by my Mac or itunes.

1) I reinstalled itunes and rebooted the iphone and my machine - it didnt detect
2) I restarted my machine again - it didnt detect
3) I tried multiple cords - it didnt detect
4) I tried connecting it to a different computer using the same cord - it detected just fine
5) I tried connecting someone else's iphone to my computer using the same cords - they detected just fine
6) I tried connecting the iphone in recovery mode - it didnt detect
7) I tried connecting the iphone in DFU mode - it didnt detect
8) I tried charging it on a wall outlet using the usb cord and chargin attachment and it charged just fine so I know the connections are fine and the cord is fine
9) I have literally tried every fix I could find on the internet and for some reason this iphone of mine simply refuses to be detected by my mac - my iphone works on all the other computers, every other computer and every other phone works no problem, just my computer, just my phone...

What do I do now?? Apple doesnt even know what to do...

Help?

Just a long shot... have you tried deleting all your device backups in iTunes?

Do you have a USB hub that you could try connecting through? Sometimes that does it.

I appreciate your help so much - thank you! I used my co-worker's dock yesterday when I was troubleshooting - it connects perfectly through the dock to his computer and is detected nicely in his iTunes, and his iphone connects perfectly to my computer with my itunes its just my iphone doesn't connect to my computer through his dock or any cord... Its like my iphone and computer are just refusing to work together and I should just get a new computer... or transfer my music stuff to my home PC

I am just going to throw this POS away at some point - forget it - go back to my blackberry....

That truly is a weird one. Out of curiosity, what version software is your iPhone running? And are you running the latest iTunes?

well - my iphone is a 16GB 3G iphone and the "about" section says I have 3.1 (7C144) and I had downloaded itunes 9 on Monday when I had forgotten my iPhone at home. When it wasnt detecting, I thought it had something to do with putting the newer version of Itunes on my computer - since my coworker who's computer my phone did work on was runnig iTunes 8... I am going to try reinstalling iTunes9....

also, since this phone was purchased in france, it doesnt work in Canada - I am pretty sure it isnt cracked, it is just being used as an ipod right now, in airplane mode - and I have tried to turn airplane mode off but that doesnt help it either...

I will keep trying things

Hmmm... you've got a lot of variables going on here. I would try updating your phone to 3.1.2 on another computer, then update iTunes to 9.0.2 and try again.
