The only problem is, I have to keep reminding myself that I have the better camera and video recording on my iPhone now!

If you think "faster" is not significant enough upgrade than you must believe there is only one iPhone; All iPhone 3G was offer faster internet and a plastic back.

yes but the internet speed increase is not going to be hugely significant, i know there is a great diff between edge and 3g networks, and the "S" is just not that much. i think when att supports 4g as verizon is beginning to do, then an upgrade would be worth it "for me". but till then the 3Gs just seems a little..... unimpressive. especially since most of the new features are available from cydia and/or app store. so "for me", maybe next year. also i will be eligable for the upgrade price.

It's not just the Internets. The processor is faster, the graphics are faster, and there is more memory. Ever gone from a 10 year old computer to a brand spanking new one? That's what this feels like.

The faster processing also speeds it up even on the same exact data network, so you still get download/latency improvements without the towers being 7.2 mbit.

Yep - the 3GS has really changed the browsing experience for me.

You never have to spend money out of pocket for an iphone upgrade
So in that sense, yes it is definetly worth it
Where are they selling for $400? I'd like to know. Why would someone buy an 8GB iPhone 3G for $400, when they can go get one for $99 with a new contract? I guess if they wanted to one and didn't want to start a contract then maybe. I don't know. What do you think?
