Just installed my new SwitchEasy case and gotta say its pretty awesome. The soft part of the case completely covers the whole phone and the hard part of the case locks it in place so it doesn't slide around and provides extra protection if you where to drop it... Well worth $28.00.

any pics or a link?

Tug,
Looks like the clip can be used clamping it on the sun visor or rear view mirror
Of your vehicle. I use an FM transmitter to send the iPhone sound to the autos speakers. Works well.

Also I dropped the iPhone about 3 feet, waist height, 3 times. Not a mark.

Chimera, I have a Kenwood DNX8120 in my truck which has blue tooth and is without a doubt the best car stereo I've ever owned. When my 3G rings the stereo stops playing and whatever screen is showing automatically goes to the blue tooth screen and tells me I have a phone call at which time I can either take the call or ignore it.

Check it out

Thats a pretty nice case but like I said before, I HAVE to have a holster carrying that phone around in my front pocket drives me flippin' crazy.

Thanks for the link on this case! Looks really rugged yet allows full access to front touchscreen and all buttons. I wonder how durable the clip is and if the case stays on their securely.

I also like that the bottom breaks away. I have a Pro Clip dash mount that fits the Iphone perfectly (used it formerly for my Treo) and it only accepts the bottom 1.25" of the phone. The case I have now is difficult to remove as it is leather. This would solve that problem.

Have you tried the belt clip on your belt? Just curious what your findings are.

It looks like the up down volume buttons are covered. How do the operate thru the case?

Folks, I got the Speck SeeThru case for iPhone 3G, and this is the first case that I actually want to keep on the phone! Got the Diamond Clear version, even though they come in colors too. Awesome case! Best I've ever used. I used to have the ToughSkin for my 1st Gen iPhone, and although it was truly a beast of a case, since I like to put it in my pocket, the rubber made it tough to get out of my pocket. This case is the best of all worlds--clear plastic case that doesn't add much bulk nor weight to the iPhone 3G--it has rubber grips on the side so it doesn't slip out of my hand when I'm on the phone. This is a must, and something that always kept me away from the plastic cases--felt like a bar of soap. The chrome and all plastic back and sides are protected. The coolest part is the bottom of the case slides right off (gotta grip it by the front bottom) and allows me to place it in the dock at work for when I play music...or the bottom of the case can be turned on its front to use as a stand to watch movies. Brilliant! This is the first case I'm actually happy with.

If you are looking for a case that lets you show off the sexy iPhone 3G, but yet is protective, functional, and has a bit of rubbery grip where you need it, look no further! And only $30. Good deal.

The clip stays on securely but if you are doing any athletic activity you may want the plastic assembly to be more heavy duty. One thing I notice though is that funny mid clamp sticks out an can scratch your arm unless you have a long sleeve shirt. The buttons on the actual case are surprisingly well designed and function well IMHO.

Tug that Bluetooth setup you have; are you saying you are able to play your iPhone music out of your car stereo via Bluetooth?
If this is true is it true stereo music or mono? Even if it doesn't that's a nice feature you described.

Impaler glad you like the SeeThru. Speck seems to be making products tha are different and unusually cool. I don't think I will ever change my Toughskin unless they make one water resistant.

Chimera, unfortunately I have a cable that runs from the back of the stereo to my glove box which I connect either my Iphone or Ipod to. I really wish the installers would have ran the cable to the center console, it would have been much more convenient. I may change it in time, who knows? <shrug>

Crazy maybe, but I am much less worried about dropping my iPhone. In my opinion I could have dropped it 5 feet or more with no damage. The case is that tough yet provides rubber enough for impact resistance and looks great doing it. And I don't plan to baby a phone due to some "one in a thousand" 3 foot drop screen crack post. So I felt I had to prove something to myself as well as others out there; the right case can protect your phone and people who prefer them over "naked phone fashion" get more protection.

Personally I seriously like the look better than the naked phone look itself. But perhaps that taste is mostly for outdoors types, people who love a sci-fi look, jeep or hummer owners, or just people who want something different.
