Well after searching and searching I think I've found my every day case solution.....

I picked up the Contour fusion case from the Apple store and so far like everything about it. Its slim enough that it doesn't increase the overall profile of the Iphone 3G, yet adds a silicone-type shell and raised screen parameter ridge. The harder style "back-bone" aids in sliding in and out of your pocket.

For a hip style carrier, when needed I picked up a DIO horizontal hip case, spec'ed for a blackberry, this case fit the Iphone 3G with the contour case perfectly. This in my opinion offers a great everyday, professional style protection for your Iphone.

Now I am a huge outdoor person, fishing, hiking, camping, jeeping, etc. and when Otterbox releases their case for the 3G, I'll definitley pick one up. But for everyday use this combo is hard to beat.

Those you do need to pick up some sort of screen protector because the Fusion doesn't come with any.

Chimera,

UPS delivered my Speck case a couple of hours ago and I have to admit I like it, the thing I like the most is I no longer have to carry this phone in my front pocket, gawed that was annoying. I wish they came in something other than black but I knew what I was getting when I bought it so I cant complain to much

Sorry the pictures didn't come out that good, I had a hard day at work than I pushed myself way to hard at the gym and now I'm exhausted.

lol it's really not that bad nec. Like I said in my previous post it would be nice if it came in more than one color but it is what it is. I haven't said anything about this till now but I bought a revo2 case which was delivered yesterday as well and while the revo2 is easier on the eyes I can honestly say I prefer the case from Speck.

Cool pics Tug. I must admit I like the look a lot also.
As well as the fact that it withstands a three foot drop.
Wouldn't trade it for any case out there.

If it comes with a guarantee that the phone will not break in a three foot drop then it serves its purpose. If not then i dont see a difference. Thick, thin or no case at all.

I think the Speck tough case is a ridiculously-large and needlessly bulky case. Having said that...

That's a legal nightmare I'd never get myself into, and I don't blame any company for not getting into. There are too many variables, angles, etc., that phones can be dropped from, and different velocities...otherwise I could throw my phone with force and break it just to get another one. No case-maker who has any business sense will ever make a guarantee like that--we are expected to exercise reasonable caution to avoid breaking our phones.

Well said. I also believe in the beauty of simplicity. Wrapping the iphone in a case to protect it from scratch and bumps and denying yourself to appreciate its elegant form and finish so just when you sell it you can get a much better price because its still prestine.

Lucky buyer, they will enjoy what you didnt.

To think of it, the phone may not be yours. You are merely a safekeeper.
If thats the logic of keeping it prestine.
Now thats a thought.

Theres only two things in life are guaranteed death and taxes everything else is a crap shoot.

I have both a Speck case and a Revo2 and I can tell you that as long as that Speck case holds out it'll be my case of choice not because I'm worried about dropping it but I actually like the look and the feel of it and when it's in the holster which it is 90% of the time the size and the way it looks doesn't bother me in the least.

When I bought the iphone 3g the first thing I did was look for a screen protector and a case with holster but during the two weeks that I didn't have one carrying that phone in my front pocket was nothing but a pain in the arse and for a short period of time I actually regretted buying the 3G just for that reason.

nec can you honestly tell this group you've never accidentally dropped anything? Out of curiosity nec what kind of case do you have?

i dont have a case honestly. I like to see my phone as it is. I have had several expensive phones in the past much more expensive than the 3g and none of them got dropped because i know its a phone and took extra caution. I cant say i havent dropped anything. If ever i drop something its because knowingly that they dont tend to break or of no importance.

Dont get me wrong if you bought the case because of its looks and how it feels its a different story. You may like what i dont like vice versa. If you bought it lets say as protection then thats your choice thats what you believe is best for your phone. All im saying is I dont agree with Cases.

Maybe im just carefull about my things and dont need protection in a form of a plastic or rubber case.
