Well, my buddy left his 3G charger here and I'm looking at it. I'd have to pretty much step on this thing to break those prongs... solid as a rock. I guess there were bad batches?

Yeah the one I have seems pretty solid too. Regardless, I'll be taking mine down to the Apple Store for exchange as soon as October 10th rolls around.

so what do you think they would do if i didnt send the old one back when i get the new one??

I just found mine and the prongs seem sturdy. I'll get another one just in case, even though I never use the thing.

I just ordered mine, glad they have a web exchange ... Don't really feel like heading across town to the Apple Store.
