Exclamation Electric iShock!

Has anyone else been painfully electrocuted by the chrome trim? While the phone is docked usb to pc, if I lightly touch the back of my finger or hand to the metal trim I am shocked. If I don't remove contact the shock quickly becomes really painful! It seems the current is not strong enough to feel with my palms but I am worried about what harm it could cause the handset! This is more than just a static thing I fear.

What kevlar08 said. You should definitely take your phone into Apple or call Apple for a replacement...

No need for a poll on this one. Something isn't right here. It could be the USB cable, but I would take the phone in to be checked out.

Wow that's pretty dang bizarre. I've not had this happen to me yet (thankfully) but I would suggest you do as the others said, have Apple take a look at it.

Wow, I thought for sure there would be some who could duplicate this! After paying closer attention to this behavior I am finding that I can feel the current more towards the bottom of the phone (closer to the dock/base), and again, only with the soft, more sensitive skin on the back of my finger. I am using the 3G specific cradle as well. I'll visit an apple store soon and post back.

edit: I just discovered I get no shock when charging with wall charger, but still get a shock when usb to pc.

When you charge with the wall, is it still plugged into the dock or not?

Yes, still in the dock, and no shock. I just discovered I get the shock when connected to PC with or without dock. So it's the PC.. hmmm
